The Tacoma Rainiers batted around and scored seven runs in the top of the eighth inning Tuesday night and came back to beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 7-4 at Southwest University Park. It was the first meeting of the season between the two teams.

El Paso starter Omar Cruz pitched four shutout innings Tuesday and has allowed only two earned runs in his last four starts, spanning 12 innings. Chihuahuas outfielder Forrest Wall entered the game as a pinch runner and went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and an RBI. Cruz and Raul Brito prevented Tacoma from reaching scoring position through the first five innings.

Harold Chirino, Reiss Knehr and Miguel Cienfuegos also pitched scoreless outings for El Paso. Tim Locastro was hit by a pitch and scored a run on Tuesday and has been hit by 15 pitches in 47 career games with the Chihuahuas. San Diego Padres shortstop Mason McCoy went 1-for-4 with two RBIs in his first MLB Injury Rehab game with El Paso.
